SnoMote solves the age-old problem of trying to control your phone with gloves on. SnoMote is a simple 3-button remote that is easy to use on the mountain to control your music playback and more!
The Hardware
SnoMote is a Bluetooth Low Energy device. It communicates directly with your phone and is compatible with both wired and wireless headphones, bluetooth speakers, really anything you can play music off your phone with. It's powered by a single CR2032 coin cell lithium battery and will last years before it has to be replaced. Lithium battery chemistry was chosen for its resilience to the cold. As you're probably aware, rechargeable lithium ion/polymer batteries don't work well in the cold. Lithium cells are different and retain high performance at low temperatures (which is why they're popular in watches and the like).

Industrial Design
The design of SnoMote is all about ease of use while on the move - especially while wearing thick gloves. Each oversized button is distinctly raised such that a user can feel the different buttons. Even with gloves on. Even through your jacket pocket. The shape itself is stylish and distinctive, but also has purpose. The asymetrical design gives the user orientation 100% through touch. The thicker side raises the volume while the thinner side lowers it. Pretty intuitive.
As far as the controls go, they're exactly the same as on the iPhone wired earbuds:
- Single press - Play/Pause/Answer Call
- Double Press - Skip Forward
- Triple Press - Skip Backward
- Hold - Siri/Google Assistant
Most people are already familiar with these controls and with Siri/Google Assistant access you can pretty much do anything you want on your phone - all with your gloves on 🤯
